The Kind of Stewards God Wants Us to Be (From the Pulpit of Open Door)

Title: "The Kind of Stewards God Wants Us to Be"

 Text: 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, Ephesians 5:1-18, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Introduction:

The word "moreover" signifies an addition to what has been said, conveying the idea of likewise or also.

We are individuals entrusted with something that does not belong to us, a tremendous privilege in God's eyes.

What an honor it is to be one of God's stewards.

We have been entrusted with:

  • ·         The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 1:11).
  • ·         His Church (Acts 20:28).
  • ·         His resources (Psalm 24).
  • ·         Our families.
  • ·         The souls of the lost (Ezekiel 3:17-19).

Points:

 A. Faithfulness to Our God-Given Responsibility:

  •  In worship (Acts 2:41-47; Hebrews 10:25).
  • In the work of God (1 Corinthians 15:58).
  • In the word of God (2 Timothy 4:2).
  • In winning the lost (Acts 1:8).

 B. Fruitfulness in Our Christian Life:

  • Shining as lights (Matthew 5:16).
  • Being soul winners.
  • Remaining steadfast.

C. Firm Conviction as Children of God:

  • Avoid compromise, including associating with the wrong company or crowd.
  • Exercise care in your actions.
  • Avoid being overly critical.

D. Staying Focused in the Ministry:

  • Setting a positive example for others to follow.
  • Grounding ourselves in the Word of God.
  • Radiating a glowing testimony for Jesus Christ.

In conclusion, as faithful and fruitful stewards of God, firm in our conviction as His children, and focused in our ministry, let us remember that our role is not only a privilege but also a profound responsibility. By living out these principles, we give God every reason to bless us and our families in our stewardship. May we continue to honor Him in all we do, knowing that our faithfulness and dedication bring glory to His name and draw others to the light of His grace. Let us leave here today committed to being the kind of stewards that God truly desires us to be.
