The Importance of Thanksgiving

Psalm 107:22-25

 Intro:

 "And let them sacrifice the sacrifice of Thanksgiving and declare the works with rejoicing"

·         Thanking God is Personal. V.1

·         Thanking God is a Privilege

·         Thanking God is a Proclamation of the wonderful works of God to every Human being that he purchased with his own blood.

 Why Thanksgiving Important?

A. It is an Act of Recognition when we thanked Him. V.1-10 (Psalm 92:1)

Of...

1. Of Who God is (V.32-38)

2. Of Who we are (V. 4-7)

3. Of What He did to us (V.2, 6-9, 13-15)

 

Who God is (V.32-38)

·         He is the God of our Salvation

·         He is the God who Supplies our needs

 

B. It is the Accumulation of our Reasons of thanking God. V.1(Psalm 116)

 Reasons:

1. His Goodness

2. His Grace

3. His Generosity

 

C. It is Anticipating our Rewards / Blessings "Here and Above" as we thanked God.

1. The blessing of being Forgiven

     (Psalm 103:10)

2. The blessings of being Feed constantly by God in spite of our unfaithfulness to the Lord. (Psalm 23)

3.  The blessings of being Fully Guided and protected by God every day of our life.

 

D. It is enjoying the Assurance of God's Resources regarding of whatever situation  we have in this world that we live in as we thank God.

 

1.  The Assurance of God's Presence

2. The Assurance of God's Provision

3. The Assurance of God's Protection

4. The Assurance of God's Prosperity or Promotion

What sacrifice do you sacrificed to the Lord today as you thank Him this morning?

Have you done your best to him knowing that He really deserves it?
